I've been safely exploring places that I know will be for the most part quiet and less crowded than anywere else in Los Angeles. I have driven by a beach in Ventura and I was afraid of getting out my vehicle because of the hoards of people walking in groups near the beach without any face coverings. That's pretty selfish of them -- I do not cover up my face only for my health, but out of respect for other people as well.
I have compiled an active list some of my favorite California coastal stops in a Google map since people have been asking me where they should go when they need an escape near the coast during Covid-19. We're spoiled here in California with easy access to some of the most beautiful places in the world. A quick escape from our shared new reality is what I crave at least a few times a month. Please be safe out there and avoid the more popular places to visit (hello, Runyon Canyon -- my least favorite hike in LA) where you know you won't be able to stay 6 feet apart from other people. Tons of people still don't wear masks when they're out and about. Mostly our young people under the age of 30 and the homeless it seems. We are blessed with so many beautiful places in LA to explore to some solo time for exercise and fresh air while avoiding people. Be safe everyone!
