My cousin in Portland is quite convincing. He always texts me with places to check out in Los Angeles. He has been telling me about this restaurant opening and has been encouraging me to check it out for him. I heard about this Vegan spot being opened by Nic Adler (the Roxy, Goldenvoice, Coachella, Arroyo Seco Weekend, Eat Drink Vegan) and some friends. I have also seen the photos in my IG feed. The restaurant is pricey and is expected for a vegan restaurant. Cheap and vegan is an oxymoron. $11 for a single and $14 for a double. My vegan shake was $7. Kind of on par with music festival food pricing. The price might might deter you from visiting this fast food restaurant frequently, especially if you're an omnivore like me.
If you have never tried vegan, this is worth the price. The burger was outstanding. A hybrid of a burger that melded the best of In-n-Out and Shake Shack. The sweetness of the grilled onions, the "bleeding lab meat," secret sauce, and potato bun melding delivered on flavor bite after bite. I hear the owners want to expand. With the popularity of health concious millennials who will pay the price for food experiences like this, especially for selfies in the IG friendly environs, Monty's Good Burger's future looks bright.
